The exhibits on show at Paderborn's Nature Studies Museum located, like the Historical Museum, in the former Royal Stables in Schloß Neuhaus, deal primarily with regional topography and natural phenomena particular to North-Rhine Westphalia and the Paderborn area. A visit to the Nature Studies Museum is made particularly special by its interactive approach to exhibiting. Visitors wishing to discover the fascinating things on offer, whether visually, aurally or physically, are encouraged to get involved in the most literal sense: some exhibits can be touched and others examined close-up with the help of a microscope or magnifying glass. The aquariums contain many local species of freshwater fish and it is even possible to watch bees at work in the hives!
