Ars sacrale, the museum of sacred art located in Haus Cassau, was opened in 1999 after 6 years of preparation. The artist and collector Bernd Cassau is owner of the combined gold- and silversmith workshop that has been producing hand-made church artefacts for over 100 years. Cassau's private collection includes pieces acquired during his travels and at auctions as well as some of his own artistic works. The exhibits, featuring religious monstrances, chalices and crucifixes, are impressive examples of the artistic beauty and diversity of sacred art.
